National Manufacturing Week 2016 (NMW), held this year in Sydney from May 11 to 13, is Australia’s largest, longest-running manufacturing industry event. This year, NMW will provide a comprehensive showcase of manufacturing innovation, information and inspiration, will be co-locating with the Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo, as well as the Safety First Conference and Expo.

Following the success of the National Manufacturing Week in 2014, Australia’s premier manufacturing trade event will return to Sydney with its unparalleled program of free education and networking events. NMW 2016 will showcase two distinctive free-to-attend seminars, including R&D and Digital topics.

Despite the steady decline in the Australian manufacturing, latest figures are showing an increase over eight consecutive months. With the industry reaching its strongest point this decade, excitement is growing for this year’s National Manufacturing Week.

National Manufacturing Week 2016 will showcase hundreds of products and services from around the world, spread out over twelve product sones focusing on innovative capabilities in welding technology, automation and robotics, intralogistics, advanced materials and much more.

Together with the remarkable demonstration program, NMW will also present an authoritative seminar series, in which industry leaders will share new ideas and opportunities relevant to manufacturing opportunities ideas and innovation in Australia.

Amongst the high profile speakers will be Dr Keith McLean, CSIRO’s Manufacturing Flagship Director. Dr Keith McLean will summarise ways in which Australian manufacturers are CSIRO’s research to help them target high value niche markets. CSIRO is ready to partner with more businesses to develop new products, processes and materials that can give local manufacturing businesses a competitive edge.

NMW 2016 will also focus on emerging opportunities through its co-location with the Safety First Conference & Expo, Australia’s workplace safety event, as well as Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo, the world’s largest 3D printing event. Inside 3D Printing will give you a personal look at how 3D printing is helping local businesses engineer new products rapidly and innovatively.
