This August is Tradies National Health Month, a time when Aussie tradies are given a nudge and reminded to take care of their health and wellbeing both on and off the job site.

Did you know that ten tradies are badly injured at work every day? This is a frightening statistic and one among several others involving the physical health, safety and mental health of tradies that industry is trying to combat.

The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), the organisation responsible for creating Tradies National Health Month, is for the third year running providing valuable information for tradies on the important of full body health and safety all through the month of August. This includes providing practical tips and encouraging tradies and trade companies to register to be part of the movement by holding tradies health events in their local jurisdiction.

This year, actor and comedian Shane Jacobson, together with Kyal and Kara Demmrich from The Block and Reno Rumble (a carpenter and physiotherapist respectively) have come on board as the faces of the campaign. If last year’s award-winning campaign and “S#*t Tradies Never Say” viral video are anything to go by, the 2015 Tradies National Health Month will not disappoint.

You can be part of the movement by following their Facebook page or via these hashtags on Twitter – #tradieshealth #dontignorethepain
