Are you a steampunk fan? If you’re unsure what steampunk is, have you ever seen the film The Wild Wild West? That’s the movie involving Will Smith, flying magnetic neck saws and a giant mechanical, steam-operated spider. Another example of steampunk is Howl’s fantastic house from Howl’s Moving Castle.

If you’d like a little steampunk in your life, at ShapeCUT we are dedicated to helping bring your wildest steel creations to life. As long as it involves high precision stainless steel cutting, and a spark of creativity, we’re in.

On to making your own personalised steampunk robot.

Step 1: Design your robot

The crazier and more far-fetched the better. This is steampunk, after all. Put pen to paper, spend some time with the beast, and leave the steel profile cutting and metal processing to us. If you have a few nuts and bolt ideas at hand, that’s enough.

Step 2: Bring your design to one of our engineers at ShapeCUT

With our help, we will use laser cutting, high-definition plasma cutting, or flame-oxy cutting to design the pieces exactly as you envisioned them. With same day service, we will have all the pieces back to you, ready to build.

Step 3: Assemble your robot

Now that you have a vision and all the necessary pieces, it’s time to assemble the machine. It might take some time, planning and work to complete, but soon enough you could be rampaging around your neighbourhood on the back of your very own giant steampunk robot.

If you have any projects, steampunk or otherwise, which involve steel profile cutting, bevelling, drilling, bending or more, we’re here to help.

ShapeCUT is Queensland’s largest privately owned metal processing firm, with over 20 years of industry experience and a total of 10 specialist machines that can meet any steel cutting needs.
