One of Australia’s leading metal profile cutting services company, ShapeCUT, is pleased to announce it is a platinum sponsor for Australian go kart champion racer Declan Fraser.

The Platinum Sponsorship deal has already seen Fraser, of Declan Fraser Racing, attend the Las Vegas Supernational XIX in November 2015, where he lined-up 14th overall after 5 days of racing. The Las Vegas Supernational XIX was an invitation only event for the 77 best kart racers in the world in Declan’s class

Fraser expressed his gratitude at being able to attend this large event by thanking ShapeCUT for its help: “Thank you, especially to ShapeCUT… for everything they have done for me. I really appreciate all your help and I look forward to having you by my side later in my career.”

At only 15 years old, Fraser has high hopes of becoming a Formula One driver later in life as he climbs his racing career ladder.

Fraser’s whirlwind year seen him clean sweep the Victorian Young Guns. He then backed it up to also clean sweep the Central Queensland series held at four tracks spread over the year. Fraser broke the lap record at every event, qualified on pole at each round and did not drop any of the 12 heats to be the only driver to clean sweep the largest events in Victoria and Queensland.

Fraser is already proving he has what it takes, after taking the Whitsunday Title when he raced at the Mackay Kart Club in Queensland back in October. At this event, Fraser topped the time sheets and qualified ahead of everyone else competing against him in the pre-final and final races.

Jack Odabashian, Founder and Managing Director at ShapeCUT, said it was competitions like these that made ShapeCUT want to sponsor Fraser.

“We are really proud to be associated with Declan Fraser Racing as the platinum sponsor. We look forward to partnering with this ambitious young man, who is using his karting success as a stepping stone to one day race in Formula One. Best of luck Declan,” Odabashian said.

Fraser also recently competed at the Australian Kart Championships alongside his dad supporting him in a father-son team. Justin Fraser, Declan’s dad, worked as his coach and pit crew on the race, just as he does for all Declan’s competitions.

Already this year, teenager Fraser has competed in more than 20 events and he works hard to ensure he’s ready for each competition, working out in the gym frequently to maintain his core strength and stay focused.

Next year, Fraser plans on racing Formula V, a race where speeds can reach up to 180 km an hour, He will also be keep his reflexes sharp and his timetable busy, stepping up to race Senior karting at the tender age of 15. It’s thought this combination of racing will set him up for Formula One racing in the not-too-distant future.

ShapeCUT is excited to see what the future has in store for this young high achiever, and looks forward to him racing it out on the track in future events.
