ShapeCUT Team Feature: Meet Bruce Kady

Bruce Kady - ShapeCUT's new General Manager

We’re delighted to announce that Bruce Kady is ShapeCUT’s new General Manager.

Bruce is no stranger to many in the ShapeCUT community. He’s been out on the road working closely with customers and suppliers in business development for over two years now.

Bruce brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our business. His career spans over 33 years’, working across various parts of the Australian Steel Industry.

Congratulations to Bruce on his new role. To get everyone up to speed on our new GM, we sat down with Bruce for a quick “get to know you” interview.

How did you come to come to join the ShapeCUT team?

I’ve been glad to know Jack for over 20 years as a customer, working across several different roles in the steel industry.

A few years ago, Jack became one of my clients and I helped him restructure the business as part of the consulting work I was doing.

Shortly after, a business development opportunity came up and Jack invited me to throw my hat in the ring. Knowing what I know about ShapeCUT, I thought it sounded like a great opportunity. And, I’ve been here ever since.

What are you most looking forward to as General Manager?

In my previous role at ShapeCUT, I was very much customer-facing. I enjoyed being so hands on and my time there gave me a lot of insight in the customer space – hitting the road daily (pre-COVID) and connecting businesses with our top quality metal processing and profile cutting services.

In this role, I now have the opportunity to combine these customer insights with all of the experience I have in the steel industry, and use this to lead the next phase of growth for ShapeCUT.

It’s an exciting time for the business with plenty of opportunities and challenges on the table.

What would you highlight about ShapeCUT for those considering joining the team?

I really enjoy the working environment ShapeCUT provides.

We don’t have what you’d call a “corporate culture” – it really is a family-run business, and that makes the biggest difference for a lot of our people.

Working for  an owner-operator, you feel that passion to develop and grow the business. It’s really a positive place to be working.
