Machine Operator

We are currently looking for Profile Laser / Oxy / Plasma Machine Operators for an immediate start to join our team.

ShapeCUT is Queensland’s largest privately owned metal processing firm with 14 modern machines, the largest stock of steel plates on the market, and a custom-built job processing system all backed by a dedicated and experienced team.

We have been delivering quality profile cutting and metal processing to steel fabricators and manufacturers servicing the transport, mining and construction industries for over 20 years.

Essential requirements:

• Good communication skills with a can-do attitude
• Minimum 2 years’ experience
• In this role you must me reliable, able to work afternoon shifts and weekends when required.
• Must be able to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19
• Display courtesy, manners and respect to customers and fellow colleagues.
• Must be an excellent communicator
• Must have a Valid High Risk Ticket for operation of Gantry Crane and Forklift when required.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Adhere to the observation and maintaining Quality Assurance
• To be able to comply with Working to Standard Operating Procedures
• Keep machine clean/operational at all times
• Experience as a Profile Machine Operator (Laser, Plasma, Oxy)
• Assist in unloading and loading of the machine
• Follow up and ensure all relevant paperwork is addressed
• Be able to accurately check quantities
• Check that dimensions are correct
• Checking quality of cut
• Responsible for reporting to manager to ensure/organise any necessary work/schedules to be addressed either by telephoning/coming into the workplace. Liaises any difficulties or workshop requirements to Office/ Person in Charge which would include the following:
  > Machine repair / break down
  > Crane Repair / break down
  > Chain and dog repairs
  > Forklift Repairs / break down
  > General Workshop Maintenance etc
  >Identifying and address WH&S issues and compliance with WH&S procedures and policies.
• Display courtesy, manners and respect to customers and fellow colleagues.
• Any other duties deemed necessary.
