ShapeCUT Supports National Safe Work Month 2021

October is National Safe Work Month.

Since 2009, Safe Work Australia have run a national campaign every October to raise awareness and provide resources for Australian workplaces to ensure best practice workplace health and safety (WHS).

Safe Work Australia’s data shows that:

  • 180 people died while doing their job in 2020.
  • 107,000 people claimed serious injury or illness by way of a workers’ compensation claim for serious injury in 2017-18.

For ShapeCUT, health and safety is our highest priority. We support this campaign as a vital reminder of the importance of quality safety procedures.

No employee should need worry about their safety at work, and we provide the safest environment possible for our staff.

Think Safe. Work Safe. Be Safe.

This year’s the theme is “Think safe. Work safe. Be safe.”

Think safe—is the first step to thinking about work health and safety.

It refers to the planning and forethought that employers and business owners put into identifying risks and maintain healthy and safe workplaces.

Work safe – is the implementation of work health and safety measures.

These are the practical steps practical steps you can take to manage and reduce risk and avoid workplace incidents.

Be safe – is the continuous process of managing and monitoring work health and safety risks.

It’s about understanding that health and safety requires ongoing commitment and due diligence. It’s never a “one and done”.
